Far Cry 6 game release is expected in March 2021 on PS5 and Xbox Series X
Far Cry 6 is very likely to reach consoles and computers by March 2021. After the latest release of Far Cry 5 in 2018 and Far Cry New Dawn in 2019. So it's time to discover a new game in a few months.
After a difficult year 2019 with failures of Ghost Recon Breakpoint and The Division 2, Ubisoft had to delay the following three releases: Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine and Gods & Monsters. These three games will be launched between April 2020 and March 2021. The studio has also renovated its editorial team to better prepare for the new generation of consoles: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
5 Ubisoft games expected between 2020-2021
As you know, Ubisoft plans five new games between 2020-2021 but it has only confirmed 3 of them so far. The details of the two remaining games come from Jason Schreier, a Kotaku journalist known to have very reliable sources in his predictions. He claimed on Twitter that these two games would be Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok and Far Cry 6.
The release of Far Cry 6 in March 2021 is logical given that it's been 3 years since the last release. So this is a reasonable development period. It must also be remembered that Far Cry New Dawn is only a standalone sequel to Far Cry 5, like Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon for example.
Ubisoft is expected to officially announce Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok at E3 in June, an annual electronic gaming fair. The year 2020-2021 marks a turning point for the French publishing and development studio, which will renew itself by offering good surprises to players in the coming months.
