scooby doo mystery sega Genesis Review 16 Bit Game Review

Hello and welcome.

I have said for ages that if somebody was going to make a Scooby Doo game. It needed to be a graphic adventure game. I got a taste for that dream with Scooby-Doo Mystery Adventure series for the computers, but the series left a lot to be desired and every other Scooby-Doo game that I've played since has been just standard Platformers.

But as it turns out though that the Scooby-Doo game of my dreams isn't a dream.

It actually came out back in 1995, but it wasn't a computer game like most other adventure games from the era instead. It was hiding out on the Sega Genesis.

This game is called Scooby-Doo Mysteries and we're gonna see if the game I've been dreaming of is good any good or If it's just a nightmare.

Before we begin a quick message from us it 16-bit.

If you don't know what to do with your Game Boy Game Boy Color or Gameboy Advance games when you're done playing with them. Why not check out our game boy-eeee display shelves, they're designed and 3D printed by us to hold your gains comfortably and display them beautifully if you're interested, why not check out the description to figure out where to get them today.

Scooby-Doo Mysteries is designed to be played like a classic LucasArts Avenger game, which is a common template for a lot of adventure games from the era.

So as you would expect it has verbs to use an inventory screen various characters with dialogue trees and a large world to explore.

However, Scooby-Doo Mysteries isn't just another Graphics Adventure game. It has multiple stories all in one game. It adds features like using Scooby to point out what's interactable in a room. There are even many Is the play and mazes to solve?

Oh, no, there's a lot to do while going through Scooby-Doo Mysteries.

However, even with its fancy minigames and Scooby helping Scooby-Doo Mysteries cannot avoid the fact that it's on a Sega Genesis the controls aren't easy to get accustomed to and you'll be wishing that there was actual support for a mouse on the Sega Genesis.

The music isn't perfect to why I personally enjoy these songs, but they aren't the best.

Apple's of what the Sega Genesis can do but I feel all this pales in comparison to the two major achievements at this game accomplishes.

The first achievement is that Scooby-Doo Mystery is on the Sega Genesis.

I didn't even think the Genesis could even do these type of adventure games but surprisingly can and it also means that the closest competitor would require the purchase of either a CD or spending over a thousand dollars on a computer and if you think you try your luck on the Super Nintendo, you'll find that even the same game now is just a platformer.

Remember Genesis does what nintendon't don't?

Scooby-Doo Mystery second achievement is in its stories and despite the limitations of the Sega Genesis. The game doesn't distract you from the story you're playing.

It has little touches scattered throughout the game, like well-written dialogue the characters well-designed Sprites and looks and how these characters interact with the world that the game doesn't feel like I'm playing a Genesis game. It feels like I'm playing the actual cartoon all the Genesis there are even more. But while I'm playing the game that I question if I seen this before in the shows, or I ask myself is this based off an actual episode.

I honestly think that haha Carnival is based off of Foul Play in Funland, but I just can't put my finger on it.

So with that said is Scooby-Doo Mystery is worth going out and buying today.

Well, if you're a fan of these type of Avenger game Scooby-Doo Mysteries is sadly held back a little too much by the Genesis but not enough for me to truly. Say it ruins the experience. I still found it very enjoyable.

If you're a fan of the Sega Genesis on the other hand just has no experience like it without having to go out and buying a Sega CD.

And even if you have a Sega CD with some point and click games on it.

Scooby-Doo Mysteries is still a solid game underneath especially or the system.

But more importantly as a Scooby-Doo game Scooby-Doo Mysteries is just brilliant.

Keep in mind limitations of the Genesis.

This game looks and feels just like the cartoon.

So if you're thinking of getting this game or looking for a different type of Scooby-Doo game to play, let's give it a Mysteries. It's definitely worth adding to your collection.
